Our Story

2022

RV's Philippines operations established

In Philippines, RV registers its commercial business with the best Dermatology range for adults and children. In short span we are able to acquire a robust National presence through continous marketing and sales efforts to reach out to 3200 Dermatology Physicians and Pediatricians in Philippines.

2021

Acquisition of OPV Pharmaceuticals

RV Group successfully acquired one of the leading and the oldest private pharmaceutical firm in Vietnam, OPV Pharmaceuticals in Bien Hoa industrial Estate, HCMC. This General purpose oral solid dosage facility, oral liquids and creams has further entrenched RV in Vietnam. OPV is a leading OTC and Ethical player with established brands like Ameflu, Star Sore Throat, Tydol and many others. OPV now forms the fulcrum for RV’s growth in Vietnam and ASEAN region. Signed up a further two assets with Extrovis for entry into US/EU and Rest of the World.

2020

Signed up two assets with a Swiss company, Extrovis for entry into US/EU and Rest of the World markets.

2019

Entry to Uzbekistan

Establishment and enlarging our journey in the CIS region by our division RV Healthcare UZ. The second country in CIS after Kazakshtan where RV Group set foot.

2018

Acquisition of BRV Pharma

Acquisition of BRV Pharma in Cu Chi Industrial estate, HCMC, Vietnam. This is an oral solid dosage general purpose, oral liquids and Oncology orals manufacturing entity which was the first foray for the company in the Vietnam market in line with government strategy to encourage local manufacturing.

2017

Indian expansion and acquisitions

Acquisitions included ATRA Pharmaceuticals (now renamed RV Lifesciences), a large-scale manufacturing firm and Winston Pharmaceuticals, a leading pharmaceutical marketing firm with a strong portfolio of pharmaceutical brands.

2015

Acquisition and further expansion in Vietnam

Long Term leasing of the single largest manufacturing unit in from UMEHL. Further expansion in Vietnam included obtaining stakes in Pharbaco, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in North Vietnam.

2012

Partnership with Do Pharma

Partnership with Do Pharma to manufacture oral and injectable products in Vietnam.

2011

Embarking in the CIS region

Entering the CIS regions, primarily in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan through APC, Hong Kong, and partnering with MPC ELEAS, a renowned pharmaceutical manufacturing firm.

2010

Establishing companies in Southeast Asia

Formation of companies Reliv Pharma (DMCS), Vietnam and RV Healthcare Pte Ltd., Singapore respectively.

2008

Launching the OTC product line

Facilitated and launched through our subsidiary RV Healthcare Ltd U.K.

2006

Foundation of our first representative offices

The formation of our first representative offices based in the ASEAN regions of Vietnam, and Cambodia.

2005

Establishment of RV Group.

Rajiv Sharma

Chairman and Founder

Mr Rajiv Sharma is the principal founder of the RV Group and has more than 30 years of experience in pharmaceuticals. Before starting his venture, he was the Country Head for Ranbaxy for Indochina. He is a people’s leader with a superb head for business opportunities and the ability to take calculated risks. He has been able to build a formidable management team through epitomizing entrepreneurship of the highest order, trust, and empowerment.

Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen

CEO, BRV Vietnam

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen is one of the founders of RV Group. She has over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry and is the CEO of BRV Vietnam. An excellent leader in marketing strategies, Mrs. Huyen has experience in the production & manufacturing field with many successful endeavors over the past 13 years.

Vinod Dhawan

Former Chairman and now mentor of RV Group

An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad with degrees in textile technology and science from the Textile Institute of Technology, Bhiwani, and St Stephen’s College, Delhi, respectively, he started his career in the textile industry eventually moving into FMCG and later to Pharmaceutical sector. During his career of 45+ years, he worked with global well reputed companies like Lupin, Ranbaxy, Cadbury, and Hindustan Lever, handling various roles in Commercial, Sales & Marketing, General Management and HR for large geographies. His last assignment was with Lupin as the Group President for APAC, Africa, Middle East, and America. Prior to joining Lupin from Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd, Mr. Dhawan was heading Ranbaxy’s solid dosage forms business in the Asia Pacific and Latin America as Regional Director since 1998. Before Ranbaxy, Mr. Dhawan was with Cadbury India Ltd as Vice President Sales of Dairy Products and was also a Director on its Board.

Subrata Burman

Technical Director

Mr. Subrata Burman has a master’s in pharmacy with a vast experience of more than 42 Years’ in all manufacturing/sourcing facets of pharmaceutical industry. He worked with various pharmaceutical industries like Hisun Pharmaceutical Limited, China, APC Pharmaceutical Shanghai, Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd India, Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd China, Concept Pharmaceuticals Ltd, May and Baker India Limited, German Remedies Ltd., Roussel Pharmaceuticals India Limited. During this period, he managed formulation plants, implementing CGMP, managing Regulatory affairs, Formulation development and QA. Has experience of all dosage forms, also having experience of running API manufacturing plant and Pharmaceutical machinery factory with all commercial activities from vendor development to procurement. Experience in green field (as well as Brown Field) projects from concept design to plant erection, commissioning, and validation. He has worked/set-up many pharmaceutical plants which are recognized as CGMP plants from the respective regulatory bodies like MHRA, US FDA, TGA, and that of the country like India FDA, China SFDA. Handled Regulatory activity for product registration in India, China, Brazil, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Nigeria. EU and Canada.
