To raise awareness about PMS and help women lead healthier lives, RV-OPV will participate in the 2nd Expanded HCMC Pharmacy Science Conference on October 11, 2024<\/strong>, inviting Dr. Vo Thi Dem, Head of Nutrition at Saigon International Maternity Hospital<\/strong>, to provide accurate information about menstruation and reproductive health for women. Starting with Understanding Menstruation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Menstruation, often referred to as “that time of the month,” is a normal physiological phenomenon in women of reproductive age. However, many people still have misconceptions and misunderstandings about it, which can negatively impact their health and well-being.<\/p>\n

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and menstrual symptoms are common issues that affect the lives of most women of reproductive age. Statistics show that around 80% of women experience symptoms of PMS and menstrual cramps, including fatigue, mood swings, abdominal pain, bloating, and stress. Despite how common they are, many Vietnamese women still lack adequate knowledge and awareness of these issues and how to care for their reproductive health.<\/p>\n

Reproductive Health Education<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reproductive health education should begin at puberty when girls experience their first menstrual cycle. Between the ages of 10-15, girls need to be guided about the menstrual cycle, the changes in their bodies, and how to care for themselves during this phase. This not only helps them feel more confident but also teaches them how to prevent and manage the uncomfortable symptoms caused by PMS and menstrual cramps.<\/p>\n

Vietnamese Women’s Awareness of PMS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Although PMS is a common health issue, awareness of it in Vietnam remains quite limited. Many women may consider PMS symptoms as normal and endure them without seeking medical support or without knowing that effective treatments are available. This can lead to a decrease in quality of life, affecting work and social relationships.<\/p>\n

Raising Awareness about Reproductive Health<\/strong><\/p>\n
